About the Museum
Journey through 4,000 years of island history at Florida's first spoken history museum. Housed in the historic 1935 Nassau County Jail, the museum showcases the remarkable story of Amelia Island—the only U.S. location to have flown eight different flags.
From the Timucua Native Americans to Spanish and French explorers, from the lawless era of pirates to the dignified Victorian period, each chapter of the island's fascinating past comes alive through artifacts, photographs, and engaging docent-led tours.
