Amelia Island Coffee is the coffee house on Centre Street itself — 207 Centre, in the middle of the shopping blocks, which makes it the default morning stop for anyone staying downtown or starting a day on foot.
It runs the full coffee-house format: espresso, drip, pastries, tables, and enough seating that people work here. For a visitor it is the simplest answer to "where do we get coffee before the shops open?"
What to expect
A coffee shop rather than a café-restaurant: espresso drinks, brewed coffee, and baked goods rather than a cooked breakfast. For eggs, look at the island's breakfast rooms.
It opens early enough to be useful before a Fort Clinch morning or a sunrise at Main Beach, and it is busiest between 8am and 10am.
Where it sits, and where to park
207 Centre Street is dead centre of the historic shopping district — the shops, galleries and the Palace Saloon are all within a block. Downtown's on-street parking is changing — the city's paid programme is due to end on 18 November 2026 — so check the parking guide.
The island's other notable coffee stop, Mocama Coffee, is four blocks north on 3rd Street inside the brewery building.
