Sliders is the island's oceanfront restaurant — not across the road from the beach, but on it, with a deck and a tiki bar facing the Atlantic on South Fletcher Avenue. That single fact explains why it is busy from March to October.
The food is coastal grill: seafood, sandwiches, and a bar menu, with live music on a regular schedule. Nobody comes here purely for the kitchen, and the restaurant knows it — the deck is the product.
What to expect
Outdoor seating on the deck, an indoor dining room, and a tiki bar. Expect a wait for a deck table at peak times in season, and expect it to be worth it if the weather is doing anything at all.
Live music runs regularly. The lineup changes, so check the restaurant's own calendar before building an evening around a band.
Where it sits, and where to park
1998 S Fletcher Avenue is on the ocean side of the island, roughly midway between Main Beach and Peters Point. There is a car park on site, and free beach parking nearby — no meters on this side of the island.
From downtown it is about a ten-minute drive over Atlantic Avenue.
Quick tips
- The deck is the reason — book or arrive early in season.
- East-facing: great mornings, no sunset over water.
- Free parking, unlike the downtown waterfront rooms.
