Lagniappe sits on First Coast Highway on the south end of Amelia Island, in the resort corridor rather than downtown. It is the best-regarded restaurant on that half of the island, and for anyone staying at the Omni or the Ritz end it is a ten-minute drive instead of a twenty-five-minute one into town.
The cooking has a New Orleans lean that the name signals — lagniappe is the Louisiana word for something extra — with French technique behind it and a wine list to match.
