Mini Drunken Noodle covers a lot of ground for a small room on South 8th Street: Thai, ramen, pho and sushi, open through the middle of the day and into the evening, seven days a week. On an island where a lot of kitchens close between lunch and dinner, that alone makes it useful.
It is a local everyday restaurant rather than a visitor destination, which is usually a good sign about the food and a reliable sign about the price.
What to expect
A broad Asian menu with noodles at the centre of it. The kitchen runs continuously from 11am, so it is one of the few places on the island where a 3pm meal is a normal request rather than a problem.
It also does a steady takeaway trade. If you are staying in a rental on the south end or the beach side, this is a straightforward dinner to collect on the way back.
Where it sits, and where to park
510 S 8th Street is on the island's main north-south road, five minutes' drive from downtown and about the same from the beach. There is off-street parking on this stretch — no downtown meters to think about.
The rest of the 8th Street food run is close: T-Ray's to the north, Las Tres Fronteras and the Beach Diner to the south.
