T-Ray's is a grill inside a working gas station on South 8th Street, and it is the single most-recommended cheap meal on Amelia Island. Locals send visitors here specifically because the setting is the joke and the food is not.
Breakfast is the main event — served until 10:30 daily — and burgers carry the rest of the day. It closes in the early afternoon and does not open on Sundays, which catches out a lot of people who show up for a lazy Sunday breakfast.

What to expect
A counter and a handful of tables inside a convenience store. You order, you sit where you can, and the food comes out of a small kitchen doing very high volume for its size.
Go early. The kitchen closes at 2pm on weekdays and 1pm on Saturday, and the mid-morning stretch is when the queue is longest. Cash-friendly habits and patience help.
Where it sits, and where to park
202 S 8th Street is on the main north-south road through town, about half a mile from the Centre Street shops — a ten-minute walk or a two-minute drive. There is parking at the station itself, which makes it one of the easiest stops in town to reach by car.
8th Street is also where a run of the island's other everyday food sits: Mini Drunken Noodle, Las Tres Fronteras and the Beach Diner are all on the same road.
